POKOTABI / Tsukasa
COFFEE SHOP 司(つかさ)
Tsukasa in Iwamotocho is a tranquil retro kissaten serving morning sets from 7:00, followed by nostalgic favorites like savory wok-fried Napolitan spaghetti and refreshing coffee floats.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Step inside Tsukasa on a weekday morning starting from 7:00, and you are greeted by the comforting atmosphere of an old-school Japanese kissaten. A favorite way to start the day here is the morning set, served on a single plate with buttered toast, a boiled egg, and a small side salad. Savoring the warm toast alongside a hot cup of coffee offers a peaceful pause before a busy day begins.
Come lunchtime, the menu features classic comfort staples such as Napolitan and meat sauce spaghetti, pilaf, curry rice, and even stir-fried yakiudon. Among them, the traditional Napolitan is a steady favorite, arriving at the table after a lively stir-frying sizzle from the kitchen. Tossed with sausage, green bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms in a mellow ketchup sauce, it remains satisfying to the last bite. Egg sandwiches and mixed sandwiches are also plentiful, pairing into hearty set meals with coffee or tea.
For an afternoon break, the coffee float—crowned with vanilla ice cream over pleasantly bitter iced coffee—is an enduring choice. A rich iced cocoa, classic cream soda, and fruit juices round out the cold drinks, giving you plenty of ways to unwind. Tsukasa keeps to traditional kissaten ways, allowing smoking throughout and accepting cash only, making it an easy spot to drop by for a smoke after a meal or a rest while strolling through town.
